Whether they live in our homes or in the wild, Subaru is committed to keeping all animals safe and healthy.
Loving the environment means more than loving the great outdoors. It means working to preserve it.
It’s our goal to make the pursuit of knowledge available to as many minds as possible.
In a perfect world, hunger would be history and hope would be commonplace. We believe a perfect world is possible.
We should all have a chance to lead a healthy life. We’re aiming to give as many people that chance as we can.
Our Love Promise can be seen in various partnerships with local charities and non-profits. We're grateful for the opportunity, not only to be a part of our community, but to serve it as well.
Subaru of Daytona recently did a food drive at their location. The food they collected was donated to our organization, we are so excited to be able to provide a few families in need with the food, so their food budgets are not strained as kids are home for the summer. We are locals helping locals and we couldn't do it without wonderful companies that strive to help their community like Subaru! Thank you! We look forward to more join ventures in the future!
"Subaru Loves The Earth" event ran for the month of April. Ann Pintiliano, our coordinator of community service here at Subaru of Daytona, was instrumental in making our local campaign a big success. At first, the campaign seemed like a good excuse just to clean out old computer stuff in our storage shed. But then Ann challenged her Chamber of Commerce "Leads" group associates to discard their old tech items with us. She gave it added exposure on her Facebook page, then she created a flyer for our customers who brought in their vehicles for service. Each customer received a specially designed flier that asked, "Have You Earned Your Love The Earth Badge?" One by one our customers and business associates came in with old printers, routers, wires, cords, and even a huge television. One lady brought in 30 monitors! We collected over 2500 lbs to be recycled. We hope Subaru of Daytona has helped keep at least a small part of this refuse out of our landfills. Ann even discovered a couple of local businesses here in Daytona Beach that do this type of recycling all the time. The awareness is awesome. Hopefully, the campaign will have a lasting effect. So, we ask you, "Have You Earned Your Love The Earth Badge?"
Throughout the month of April, we are hosting an E-Waste Recycling Event in our store to collect unwanted electronics. We've arranged to work with a company who will responsibly collect, re-purpose, and recycle your electronic waste. Help us protect our environment. Just show up with your E-Waste and we'll do the rest! The first 50 customers who contribute will receive a complementary environmental badge of ownership. We will accept: LCD Monitors, Cell Phones, Laptops, Tablets, CRTs up to 40", Video Games/Consoles, Fax Machines, DVD/VCR Players, Printers, Computer Peripherals, Switches/Routers, Cords and Wires.
Ann, public relations manager at Subaru of Daytona, was asked to participate in a "Celebrity Waiter Event". This event was put on by the "Council on Aging" to help raise money for the Meals on Wheel's program. This program delivers meals to the home bound elderly who are able to cook for themselves. It was the first time Celebrity Waiter event. The job of the waiters was to find 10 people for their table, dress up, and get tips for doing different things. Which this ranged from getting the guests utensils, dressing for the salad, water, also singing, dancing, or anything else the table could come up with. Ann dressed as a fortune teller with her little furry friend Subie her Subaru friend who would tell your fortune. The night went off with lots of fun by everyone. Ann was asked to sing I'm a little teapot and then Respect with two other waiters, asked to be in a hoola hoop contest of which Ann got very imaginative with it. Holding it while swing it around her waist, and stepping through it like a jump rope, then she had to skip around the room but was smart enough the get tips as she went around the room she also help others with dancing, the most fun was heading a Conga Line getting most of the people up and joining in. Ann placed 6th overall and raising for her Subaru $617, all the waiters in total raised $6,333. Great night for a first time event!
This year's Mutt Strutt sponsored by Subaru of Daytona was held on March 29, and at least 1,000 dogs and their owners enjoyed walking, running, playing and mingling on a beautiful sunny spring morning. You could say it was controlled canine chaos on the beach! We take over the beach and set up three large surfboards so owners and their pooches could pose for a photo op picture and take home a keepsake from the event. This year we had several of our employees with their dogs that they rescued there at the event helping to give back. It was fun to see all the dog interaction, and the dogs jumping in the kiddie pool of water that they had after the walk instead of drinking it. During the Mutt Strutt, Ted Serbousek, of Subaru of Daytona, was proud to present the Halifax Humane Society with a check for $26,500. We, at Subaru of Daytona, are proud to support this very worthwhile organization and are proud to make a positive impact in our community.
Last fall during Subaru of America's "Share The Love" event, Subaru of Daytona supported our local charity, the Halifax Humane Society. Almost all of our new-car buyers selected the Halifax Humane Society as their charity of choice. For every $250 donation from Subaru of America, Subaru of Daytona donated a matching $250, for a total of $500 for each car sold. The Halifax Humane Society receives no government funding so this agency keeps all the strays cats, dogs and other critters at bay. This helps Volusia County that they don't have to provide that service for this area. To help generate awareness and enthusiasm, the Humane Society brought us a six-foot-tall poster that we displayed prominently in our showroom. Our connection with them has continued into 2014, as we are a major sponsor of the organization's big fundraiser: the Mutt Strutt 5K On The Beach. Subaru of Daytona and Subaru of America raised $26,500 during the campaign.
